Welcome!

I’m Linda Grein, a Floral Park parent with over 15 years experience in the education field. I’ve had the privilege of working with many schools and school districts (public, private, public charter) and would love to share that knowledge to empower our students, support our teachers, and create an engaged, enriching tomorrow for our community.

I’m a proud Floral Park mom

Our family moved to Floral Park in 2019 and we have three children enrolled in the school district–one in Kindergarten and twins in Pre-K. My husband was born and grew up in Floral Park and since I began visiting in 2007, I have long admired the family-focused orientation of the community.  Parenting has further fueled my commitment to ensuring that every child in our community receives the best possible education to thrive in today’s ever-changing world.

ABOUT ME

You can count on my experience

I have over 15 years of experience in education, as a teacher, school leader, and a founder of a mathematics consulting company that helps school districts and leaders across the country improve student educational outcomes by:

  • Making meaningful change within tight fiscal constraints through strategic budgeting
  • Supporting teachers and providing them with the training, tools, and resources to succeed
  • Obtaining educational grants to support data-driven and high-impact academic programming

I have succeeded in supporting these improvements for schools and districts in New York City, Chicago, Georgia, Indiana, and Colorado, among others, and I am deeply excited to bring my knowledge and experience to the Floral Park-Bellerose Board of Education.

ABOUT ME

What I believe

  • District and school-based initiatives are driven by high-quality research that demonstrates proven outcomes for students and supported by strategic budgeting.
  • Every child in our community should receive the best possible academic instruction, regardless of background and learning needs.
  • Students should have voice, choice, and agency in shaping their educational experiences and futures.
  • Students should be engaged in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that develop critical thinking skills, encourage curiosity, and instill a sense of purpose and joy in learning, especially in mathematics and STEAM fields.
  • Students regularly celebrate their achievements with their school community and families.
  • Every student should  feel seen, heard, safe, and valued.
  • Teaching is a respected profession and all teachers should have the opportunity to learn high-impact instructional strategies and develop their practice to ensure that all students reach their goals.
  • Families and caregivers are participants in their children’s education and have opportunities to support their child(ren)’s goals.
